Weston S. Meyers
I am a Financial Professional with the Community Financial Group office in Roanoke. I joined my current broker-dealer, now Equitable Advisors, in 2014 and joined the CFG Team in 2017. My main areas of concentration are investments, retirement planning, life insurance and long-term care insurance.
Prior to joining, I took immense interest in my personal finances when I owned a marketing firm from 2011–2014. From that experience, I began to consider investments and retirement planning as a career. I quickly realized retirement planning is an area that most need assistance with, so I came to explore a career in the financial industry.
When I first started, my mentor told me that you get compensated in two ways; one with commissions and another with the satisfaction of helping others. This is something I never forgot and has proven to be so incredibly true. I like the fact I’m not tied to a desk and able to get out to meet individuals every day. I love listening and learning where clients have come from. It brings me joy to be able to assist in building solid retirement plans and providing folks with financial confidence.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where I was an active member of S.I.F.E. (Students In Free Enterprise), President of the A.M.A. (American Marketing Association), and involved with various intramural sports. I currently hold my FINRA series 7, 66 registrations, and Life/Health/Annuities licenses.
Around the office, I’m thought of as being reliable, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. When I am not assisting clients with investments, insurance, and retirement advice, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife and daughter, as well as participating in sports with colleagues and friends. I love to travel, and I often visit North Carolina to spend time with my extended family.
