David C. Stables IV CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®
I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional with the Community Financial Group office in Richmond and have over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry. My main areas of concentration include insurance planning, retirement planning, investments and wealth management.
I obtained the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional to better serve the needs of my clients. The CFP® comes with extensive training in financial planning, estate planning, insurance, investments, employee benefits, retirement planning and the CFP® Board’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct.
I also earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. Launched in 1927, the CLU is the insurance profession's oldest standard of excellence. Today, it continues to be the credential for practitioners who desire to provide their clients with the security of life insurance and risk management. Upon completion, a designee has the knowledge and experience to provide guidance to clients on types and amounts of life insurance and make recommendations on aspects of risk management.
In every client interaction, I take the time to understand my client’s needs and develop a financial plan — a living document — that acts as the foundation for all decisions I make with my clients.
A typical day at the office involves me holding meetings with clients to review and update their financial plans. When I’m not in meetings, I dedicate a large portion of time to analyzing strategies on behalf of clients so that I know the plans I put in place are most aligned with my clients’ goals.
I graduated from Longwood University, where I earned my degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance. I grew up in Reedville, VA, in the Northern Neck. I now live in Richmond with my wife, Meghan, my identical twin boys, Connor and Brooks, and my daughter Reese.
